I didn't understand how there was so MUCH drool, and more drool, and even more and more drool! No wonder....

Eleven Months: Can you believe it?!

Our little Miss Scarlett is ELEVEN months! Less than a month until she is officially a TODDLER!

Here's a recap of March...

Newest Tricks:
Talking.... Saying Mama, Dada, HayHay (Hazel), Bop (Cliff), and Nana (bananas/breakfast)

Following Directions.....Where's your dolly? Give Hazel a kiss. Where's your Pappy (pacifier)? Do you want your sippy? Ready for a bath? Where's my nose? All done? (She puts her hands in the air when she's done!)

Feeding herself. ...FINALLY, she figured it out! This week she's been loving turkey deli meat.

Standing and...walking (well, kind of)! Today Scarlett took TWO steps on her own! She's been standing without holding on for the past few days, still a little unstable. Of course, she loves trotting all over the house with anything on wheels. That's easy!

Favorite Toy This Month: 
BOOKS! She loves to sit down and look at any book she can get her hands on. This has become quite convenient for car rides!

Biggest Thrill:
Either baths or going to the park. We do both almost every day, and both get her to squeal, literally!

Biggest Highlight:
For Us...We snuck away to Scottsdale for the weekend and left Scarlett with Peg and Cliff. The weather was amazing (75 and breezy), we enjoyed a Giants Spring Training game, pool time, delicious food, and the chance to SLEEP IN!

For Scarlett....having her mommy as a stay-at-home mom as of June 10th! AND, the three new upper teeth that arrived this week, for a total of FIVE!

Biggest Challenge:
Ear infections. Ugh. Scarlett came down with her third double ear infection while we were away in Scottsdale. Luckily, her Mimi and Bop were on it and got her to the hospital and on antibiotics ASAP. She was already doing better by the time we arrived home.

Sweetest Moment:
Today, I was sitting with Scarlett and Hazel outside on a blanket. Scarlett leaned down and kissed Hazel on the head and giggled. When I asked her to do it again, she did! They are the sweetest buddies!

We have been blessed with good weather, healthy and happy family and friends, and the sweetest little girl. Happy spring!

10 month lady!

We've arrived at the big 10 month mark.  February flew by and we enjoyed every moment! I had a week off of work which was spent mostly with our wonderful family and friends that came up a few days early to celebrate Scarlett's baptism. It was the most perfect day- sunny & warm and surrounded by the dearest people in our lives. Scarlett is sure blessed to be so LOVED!

My mom, family friend Betty Anne, aunt and uncle, best friends (and godparents) Allie & Danny, the Larabees, Luke & Kim, Sassy and Jacob, Morgan & Elouise, and all of our local family and friends made it to the baptism at Elim Lutheran Church this past Sunday. Scarlett was a ham, of course, and chatted, waved her arms, smiled at all the members, and refrained from screaming when her forehead was dipped in water, making it a perfect and unforgettable ceremony.

We are loving our music classes on Wednesday. Scarlett still loves to "lap hop" meaning that she leaves me and goes and sits in all of the other mommies' laps. Everyone finds it quite amusing :)

Jeremy and I are headed off for a weekend away in Arizona at the end of March and for a Giants spring training game and to enjoy some warm Scottsdale weather.  We are also in the midst of planning a our annual King/Fleischmann summer vacation....this year's destination is Oregon, more specifically Portland, Willamette Valley, Sun River, maybe the coast?!

 Scarlett is adorable and we love her independence and silly personality. She is talking up a storm, eating everything we give her, walking across the couch or pushing anything on wheels, exploring anywhere she can escape to, splashing like crazy in the bath, and smiling at anyone who makes eye contact with her! 

Two more months until the big birthday...CRAZY how much time flies.

We are celebrating a VERY fun little 9 month old lady this week along with some amazing mid-70s spring weather! Life is busy for both of us at work, and Scarlett is getting more and more mobile. We are taking bets now on whether or not her first steps will happen before or after 10 months...she's standing and "walking" with toys on wheels, so any day she may get brave enough to let go! Life as we know it will REALLY change then! :)

We ventured to the SF Zoo this past month with the Fleischmanns- so much fun! The girls are totally becoming aware and excited about animals. We are loving this fun age.

This month we have some great things to look forward to:
1.) I get a week off of work for mid winter break
2.) Visitors include the Larabees, my mom, my aunt/uncle, and great friends Brennan Fam, Kubas Fam, and Betty Ann to celebrate Scarlett's baptism at the end of the month
3.) We finally see Scarlett's pediatrician for a current "weigh-in".....I'm guessing 22 pounds?! 

Bathtime is a current highlight of S's day. She LOVES LOVES LOVES the splashing in the water. We now have to keep the bathroom door shut at all times as Scarlett tries to get in the tub on her own. Yikes!

The chatterbox is on a roll. The the constant "dadadadada" babbling now has some meaning-- she knows now WHO "dada" is! When she sees Jeremy or his picture, "dada"! And FINALLY after 2 long months of nothing else, she said "mama" to me last week :) Hurray! Her third and favorite word is "Ha" for Hazel, her #1 target at all times.

I've been sewing up a storm and even started my own little Etsy shop: Sonoma Mama! After one week online, I've made 13 sales! Yahoo! This skirt above is one of my latest creations for my little lady.

8 months!

We hope everyone had great holidays. We rang in the new year with the Brennans in Gardnerville, NV. A beautiful snow storm woke us up on New Year's Day! We had a blast with everyone and Scarlett is obsessed with her future hubby Liam and bestie Camryn.  It's so fun living just a quick car ride away! The Brennans will be visiting us in February for Scarlett's baptism as Allie and Danny will be Scarlett's godparents. So exciting!

Our gal is 8 months old and weighing in at a HEALTHY 20 pounds! Obviously, her favorite time of day is meal time. We are LOVING this age. Scarlett is so fun-- chatting non-stop and showing off her sparkling new tooth, speed crawling around the house, giggling at everything, attempting to stand on her own which always results to a good bonk on the head, and continuing to sing/shout "Dadadadada" all over town.

We started music class last week which is a riot to see! While all of the mommies/daddies and other kids were waiting for the class to begin, Scarlett crawled to the middle of the circle and loudly sang "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" to her new friends. It was so funny! The whole class erupted in giggles :) Besides that, we sang, played, and drooled on A LOT of fun instruments. After the class, Scarlett ate a huge dinner and went to bed an hour early, absolutely exhausted from all the excitement.

Last but not least, Taylor and Jeff had baby #3 last week...baby GIRL Hollace! We can't wait to meet her and are so excited for Scarlett to have a girl cousin just 8 months below her!

We are wishing you all a fantastic 2011! Our new year wishes include health and happiness for our family and friends (especially EVAN), some hair for our baldy baby, and embracing and enjoying all of life's curve balls.

7 Month Gal!

Just over a week until Christmas and we are in disbelief that 2010 is almost over! Where did the time go?! Scarlett has changed so much in the past month. She is army crawling all over the house, pulling herself up to a stand, and constantly saying, "Dadadadadada!" We think she is a funny little lady- constantly laughing or smiling at anyone that looks her way. She crawls all over her puppy Hazel and turns her head to look when you ask, "Where's Hazel?" She is still quite bossy (like her mama?!), so we've learned to let her call the shots. Scarlett is also eating up a STORM! She's gained over a pound in a half since her 6 month check-up, weighing in at a hefty 18.5 pounds. Don't mess with her food!

We've also been under construction at our house for the past 8 weeks. Jeremy's best friend Morgan and his brother Henry did a fabulous job at our house. They moved out washer and dryer out to the garage, redesigned and landscaped our backyard, made a custom desk, did a window cut-out in the wall between our kitchen and family room, and re-did our kitchen counter tops with custom concrete tops and a new tile back splash! AMAZING.

Thank you for the continued prayers for Evan. He was transferred out of ICU today and over to Barlow, a USC rehab hospital, which will work on getting him off the ventilator and home! He's doing so much better- each day is an improvement and we can't wait to visit him next week!

My mom, a.k.a. Scarlett's Nonna, is flying up for the weekend to babysit S while we enjoy a few local Christmas parties. Then, she will help me with the long drive on Monday morning down to OC to celebrate Christmas Eve with the Huefners and Christmas Day with the Kings. Taylor is due in three weeks with baby #3 and we are hoping she goes into labor at Christmas dinner so we can be there for the birth :)

6 Month Old Girl!

Finally getting a moment to update Scarlett's blog. It's been a wild and exhausting 3 weeks and I appreciate all the prayers and support you've sent for Evan. He is finally off the ventilator and breathing on his own. Obviously he's very weak from the 10-day induced coma and from fighting pneumonia, sepsis, c-diff, etc...But, he is alive and we are relieved, grateful, and humbled by any small improvement. I went down to LA to be with him for 10 days with a quick trip home in the middle to see Scarlett and Jeremy for Halloween. We are hoping that Evan will be transferred out of ICU sometime in the next week and hopefully home from the hospital by Thanksgiving. Please keep him in your nightly prayers as he has endured so much and we ask for a smooth recovery and a thriving 2011 for him.

While I was gone, my little lady began moving across the floor! We can't call it crawling yet since her hands and feet are not in sync, but she manages to scoot across the entire room! Her #1 target is of course HAZEL. When we say Hazel's name, Scarlett looks around the room for her. Too cute! Scarlett is also eating like a champ, hence the fact that she's gained 2.5 pounds in 6 wks! She'll eat anything I put in front of her (sometimes with some funny faces of disgust, nevertheless, she still eats it!). We saw her pediatrician today for her 6 month  check up-- 72% height &  67 % weight. She's weighing in at a solid 16 lbs 15 oz! :)

I will finally return to work on Mon Nov 15th. I'm ready to meet my new class and see what life as a working mom will be like.  Jeremy and I will be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas in Orange County which I'm thrilled about. Luckily, all of the Kings will be in San Diego for Christmas too since Tay will be 9+ months pregnant by then, so we'll get to see everyone for Christmas Day as well.

Last but not least, last weekend Scarlett FINALLY met her great-grandma Isabel (for whom her middle name is for) at Jeremy's cousin Rebekah's baby shower. It was love at first sight! Scarlett LOVED her G.G. Isabel of course!
